Jessie’s birth was not registered until March 17, 1927, and was certified by Jessie A. Paul of Toronto, and friend of the family. Her statement read: “I am the friend of mother + father of the child (Jessie Joy Lightfoot). I was present in the house at the time of the birth + have a distinct recollection of the event.” The doctor present was J. McConnell.
