Robert’s birth was registered much later (October 25, 1938), with his older sister Nina vouching for it.

He was a clerk at the time of his marriage to Margaret. They were married by J. M. Mahoney. Witnesses were James J. Hall and Eulalia Walsh, both of Hamilton.
