Notes for Rev. Douglas LAING

Douglas came to Canada around 1852.

In 1881, he was living with his first wife Margaret, as well as Isabella (a teacher) and Minni Sinclair, in Yarmouth, Ontario.

By 1891, he and Margaret had 2 daughters, and had moved to Kingston.

Douglas was a clergyman (Baptist Minister), and widowed, living in Kingston at the time of his marriage to Dora. Witnesses were Edna A. Booth, and H.V. Booth, both of Kingston.

The 1911 census has some butchered spelling, but both daughters are still with Douglas, as well as his mother Jean (who is 94), and a niece, Jean Kines (born around 1878 in Ontario).

By the 1921 census, he is living with Dora on a farm in North Oxford.
