Notes for Stanley Ford WISELL


Stanley was in the PFC 4 Marines in World War 2, and died in the Philippines. A note on the findagrave.com website adds this information:

“Stanley Ford Wisell’s gravestone reads “VT PFC 4 MARINES, WWII”.Taken as prisoner of war in Bataan, family notified June 24, 1942 by the War Department that he was “Missing in action in the line of duty”, March 24, 1943 Red Cross notified that he was POW and well and anxious to receive letters from home. July 31, 1943 family got telegram that Stanley had died as a Japanese prisoner of war in the Philippine Islands, date of death unknown.”
