“Wanda Marie (Pardee) Luckenbill, 70, of Sunburst, died of cancer Sunday in Kalispell.

Her funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at Sunburst Lutheran Church, with burial in Sunburst Cemetery. Visitation is 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby.

Survivors include her husband C.W. “Bud” Luckenbill of Sunburst; sons Gene Luckenbill of Sunburst, Charlie Luckenbill of Casper, Wyo; daughters Paula Pratt of Sunburst, Carol Senner and Sharon Hall of Kalispell, Karen Visayle of Selah, Wash., and Doris Everson of Fall Creek, Wis.; sisters Pat Sawyer of Anacortes, Wash., and Joyce Thompson of Waco, Texas; a half sister, Turle McLaughlin of Illinois; 14 grandchildren and six great-grand-children.

She was preceeded in death by a daughetr, Betty Ann Luckenbill.

Additional survivors include daughters-in-law Kim Luckenbill of Sunburst and Lori Luckenbill of Casper, Wyo.; sons-in-law Bud Senner and Don Hall of Kalispell, Richard Visayle of Selah, Wash., and Daye Everson of Fall Creek, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Larry Sawyer of Anacortes, Wash.; and sisters-in-law Emma Peterson of Shelby and Dianne Pardee of Waco.

Wanda was born July 18, 1932, in Fulton, Ill., to Brownie (Ginn) and Edward Pardee, and move to Montana with her family at the age of 9. Wanda married C.W. “Bud” Luckenbill on Dec. 23, 1948, in Great Falls. She lived most of her life in Sunburst on the family farm with Bud, her husband of 54 years, and their son Gene and daughter-in-law Kim. Wanda was a homemaker whose whole life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who touched the hearts of many.

Throughout her life, Wanda was active in many organizations. She was a a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, being both local and district president, a member of the Sunburst Lutheran Church and active in various church activities, a Girl Scout leader, The American Quarter Horse Association, New York Jockey Club, and a racehorse owner and fan for many years. She loved playhing keno and bingo and enjoyed arts and crafts.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jerry and Richard Pardee and Donald Schindler; and sisters Daisy Beachler, Beulah Pinson, Georggia Rose Pardee, Lesta Leolie and Lillian Jacobson.
