History of Leeds and Grenville by T.W.E. Leavitt - “James Marshall who took up 100 acres on Lot No. 18 of the 18th concession of Kitley Township. He had a family of seven sons and three daughters.”
The 1851 census for Leeds shows him being 67 (born around 1784) and born in the USA.
