In the 1911 census, she is widowed with her two young sons in Calgary.

By the 1916 census, she has remarried and still has her two sons with her, at #116 45 Avenue East in Calgary. There is a younger daughter as well named Irene; I am not sure if that is Emma’s or from a previous relationship that Arthur had. Being that she was born around 1912 in Alberta, could well be Emma’s too.
