I did indeed write software for the CoCo under the company name GSW Software. War Monger was originally called "A World At War". After the CoCo market collapsed, I literally gave the game away to Sundog. They put a different opening screen on it, but did not change it in any other way that I know of. I also wrote a game called Jubilex, a disassembler called Diasm, a library of generic assembly routines called Roots, and two disk utilities: GAT Backup and Omni Utility. I wrote all this between the ages of 13 and 16. I made almost no money from them, and eventually had to get a job in a grocery store, which I despised greatly. I have no objection to you putting this stuff up for download. I will attempt to get everything transferred to PC files, however I don't know how well all those old floppies survived. I have the dual disk drive setup for the CoCo III. I do have a Windows 95 box that I use for testing. I just need to get the cable and software. Or would it be better to obtain an old 5.25 drive for the PC? Sincerely, Greg Wittmeyer CEO, Gammadyne Corporation mailto:gregw@gammadyne.com http://www.gammadyne.com ***** ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ***** Some fellow Coco users put me in contact with you. I run the Tandy/TRS-80 Color Computer Games webpage: http://nitros9.lcurtisboyle.com/coco_game_list.html and I have one of your games on there (War Monger). I was wondering a couple of things: 1) Did you have any corrections, or further comments, that you would like me to put into the game information? 2) Would you be willing to allow me to put the game up for download? 3) What other games (or other Coco software) did you write? 4) How did you get involved with Sundog to do the distribution of your game? I guess that's a little more than a couple, but... Thanks for your time! P.S. It was mentioned that you were wondering how to transfer software from real Coco disks to a PC... what floppy drives do you have on both systems, and which operating systems? -- L. Curtis Boyle
