Blitz is a fun shoot-em-up, loosely based on games like the Apple II's Sabotage, with 9 skill levels. You are a tank on the bottom, and you angle your gun around with the arrow keys, and you have rapid fire. If you move your gun all the way to one side, you start moving that direction as well. For the first part of the game, you are simply shooting planes down. After a certain number of points, they start bombing you, which you either have to dodge, or shoot out of the air. And they start bombing more and more as the game progresses. Once you hit something and it explodes, if you keep rapid firing, your bullets will explode when they hit the previous explosion; you can eventually cascade these down so that explosions are right above your tank, and your bullets aren't going anywheres (and this can protect your tank). Deceptively simple at the beginning, it gets much harder as the game progresses. Or you can start on level 9 and skip right to the hard stuff.
