Eastworld Karate is an arcade style Karate game, loosely based on the arcade game Karate Champ. It works on all Coco's, and has some special support for the Coco 3 double-speed POKE. It support 1 player mode versus the computer, or two simultaneous human players. By moving the joystick to various positions and then timing hitting the fire button, you can block, kick punch, jump and attack, etc., similar to the arcade original. The game also features 16 different backdrops that you can play on (selectable from a menu, and only two of the 16 are pictured above) as well as some digitized sound effects, and some support for the Sound Speech Pak as well. The game is pretty impressive in that it is almost entirely written in BASIC (except the digitized sound, of course). It definitely plays better (better reaction time) on a Coco 3 in full double speed mode. Unfortunately, I don't have any information on who the specific author was (it may have been on the loading intro screen, but that was hacked at some point on the copy I have). If anyone has that information, please email me.
