Galactic Conquest is the first of 2 games that James West wrote on his Coco 2 back around 1985-1986 based on the Galactic Saga series done for the TRS-80 Model 1/3, Apple II and Atari 8 bit computers, first by Adventure International and later by Broderbund. This game, if I remember correctly, was mostly based on this series, but with some elements from a Coco game called Stellar Empires that originally appeared on one of the Coco cassette based magazines in the early 1980's. It features an ML routine to draw the text (which includes an upper/lowercase 32x24 screen, and supports setting "working" areas that restrict output to part of the screen).

Galactic Conquest is a turn based trading / war simulation style of game, and supports from 2 to 4 players of which at least one must be human player, and the others can be any mix of human and computer players. The game has many features including troop deployment, setting up trading, sanctions and blockades, travel times between planets that will take multiple turns (you can even send several fleets at different times from different planets, timing them to all arrive at one planet at once to have a massive battle). There are various menus (and sub-menus within those) of options for the players and a nice 3 plane graphic style to show where you currently are in orbit (including a picture of the planet), as well as the menus and results of your actions (some of which you can see in the screenshots above). The goal is to take over the entire area of space covered with your map. Some planets are run by other players (or computer players), and others still are independent and don't travel outside of their own system.
