Pennypede Intro and game screens

Pennypede is a low resolution machine language version of the arcade smash Centipede with keyboard controls. It has most of the elements of the arcade original including different colored mushrooms between screens, spiders and fleas (I haven't seen a scorpion, but I may not have gotten far enough into the game). It also features key repeat not only in the arrow controlled movement but also in firing. The score uses a custom multi-color font and runs at a good pace with some decent sound effects. Looking at the size and the loading address, I suspect that this game was originally meant for a 4K RAM machine, but by the time it was published in 1983, most people wanted disk compatibility so it was bumped up to run at a higher address so that it would work with disk drive systems.
