Rubicon II is a text based strategy war game, and was the the original title for the 32K RAM expanded version of Ark Royal Games original 16K version called Across The Rubicon. Within half a year it was later renamed back to Across the Rubicon, 32K version. War games is something that Ark Royal Games specialized in. In this case, you have to try and maneuver your troops, artillery, etc. across the Rubicon river (it is based on the Battle for the Huertgen Forest, from World War II). This 32K version added many more game elements to the original, and allowed for saving and reloading a game in progress for the first time (especially needed since the game can take several hours to play). Like most of their games, Rubicon II was written in BASIC and used low resolution semigraphics, saving RAM for the gameplay itself instead of taking up a fair bit for higher resolution graphics.
