Thunder Road is a text adventure game that was ported from the TRS-80 Model 1 original which was made in 1980. The author who converted it to the Coco, Charles Forsythe, did many of the Coco programs for The Programmer's Guild. The original game was by Don & Freda Boner (a father/daughter team) and was labelled as "A True Life Adventure". This means it does not take place in a fantasy world... it actually takes place in Kentucky. Your missions is to deliver your White Lightning moonshine from your farm to Knawbone. It's a little different than other text adventures that there is not really an inventory system, and it is much more linear than a regular text adventure game. It also (unfortunately) uses really old style verb parsing for movement - typing N to go North does not work; you have to fully type GO NORTH.

P.S. You have to be in the car to move... and even though the game describes the card a 57 Chevy... ENTER CHEVY does NOT work; you have to ENTER CAR. These types of things make the game more frustrating than it needs to be.
