Notes for John Henry BOYLE


From Boyle Bulletin #9 - lived in Bangor all his life. He had 2 farms which his sons Joseph and George took over after his death. Mary Taylor (nee Boyle) taught Cahrlie, Gwen, Tessie and Ruth.

He is in the 1871 census in Bangor, age 4 months (meaning the census was taken around March, 1871).

1881 census has him born in Ontario, 1871.

1901 census has their last name spelled wrong (Boyl). They lived near his parents Henry & Mary at the time.

They are living in Bangor in the 1921 census, where John is listed as a farmer.

Betty Scharffe note: Witnesses at their marriage were William John Davis and Kathie Boyle, and that they were married Jan. 9.

John was also the Lodge Master for Orange Lodge #1194 in the County of North Hastings as of 1909. It had a post office address in Combermere, but that actual lodge meetings were in Bangor.
