William originally settled in Carberry Plains, Manitoba in the spring 1878, according to the book “The Carberry Plains”. There is also a “W. Hunt” listed as a councillor (1890-1892), and then mayor (1894-1895) which may have been him as well.

William moved to Vancouver around 1904/1905. He worked as a police officer for the city of Vancouver from around 1909, until his retirement in 1929. He collapsed at home while going to bed, passing away from heart failure.
