Betty F. Zieske, 91, Minot, ND, formerly of Kenmare, ND, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, in a Minot care center.Betty Florence Welsch was born December 1, 1925 to John N. and Margaret “Margie” (Elliott) Welsch in Kenmare, ND. She was raised on her parents farm in Dimond Township, Burke County, North Dakota where she attended a country school and later attended Kenmare High School.On January 1, 1945 Betty was united in marriage to Albert R. Zieske in Wolf Point, Montana. To this union, four children were born: Sharon, John, Mickael and David. Betty worked at several places in Kenmare including the Ben Franklin Store, Kenmare Hospital, Kenmare Baptist Home, “52” Club Steakhouse, and Lakeshore Steakhouse. Many remember her for making a “mean chicken fried steak.”Albert passed away November 5, 1955.Betty was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church of Kenmare for the past 70 years, she was also a member of the Altar Guild.Betty enjoyed ceramics, an occasional trip to the casino, and spending time with her family.Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margie; husband, Albert; sons, Mickael and John, and grandson, Charles “Chuck” Parsley.Funeral: Friday, February 3, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, ND.Interment: will take place in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND.Visitation: Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND and Friday an hour before the service at the church.
