Air Traffic Controller is a simulation game written in Extended Color BASIC. The multiple skill levels not only add more airplanes to worry about (both incoming and departing), but also can increased wind speeds. The game uses the right joystick to activate a little square on the screen to select which plane the player wants to direct. Once one is selected, it activates the menu on the left (Heading, Altitude and Velocity), which the player can then select between to change the setting to redirect the airplane. It also activates the 3 status lines just below that - RTE (route) indicates whether the airplane selected is inbound or outbound, MODE which shows which mode of operation is currently being used:
TRACK (Tracking the aircraft - the default mode)
POLL (Allows the player to select which incoming or outgoing aircraft they want to change settings on.
READ (option when in POLL or SET mode - to change selected airplane's flight charcteristics)
SET (Set the RPV's auto pilot parameters)
TKOFF (Set flight parameters for an airplane Taking Off)
FINAL (When an airplane is in final approach to the runway, this indicates that the player is now controlling the airplane with the joystick directly, and the Glide Slope, Drift and Drift Rate controls/instruments are currently active). This is when wind affects the airplane's path.
END (Simulation has ended. All airplanes were successfull or destroyed, and the player will get a summary of how they did, and possible entry into the top 5 scores).
