Crawler is a machine language, keyboard controlled low res game (64x32) that is loosely based on the arcade smash Centipede but far more limited in scope. It was one of the programs on the tape magnazine T&D so it was very cheap compared to commercial games. There are the mushrooms (that can be shot) as well as a snake (instead of a centipede), but the snake appears to only be a couple of segments in length. It also moves only left to right (with wraparound at the screen edge, where it wraps and goes down a line). The player uses keyboard controls to move their shooter left to right and to fire, but there is no up or down, and if the snake makes it to the bottom row the player will be killed (the number of free men is on the bottom of the screen). The game does speed up every so many levels to add some extra challenge.
