Galactic Trek is an original arcade style game that was published in Color Computer News magazine in early 1983. It is a BASIC game with machine language subroutines (mainly for the scrolling), with three different levels to go through.
In all three screens, you are flying through a scrolling starfield, trying to dodge obstacles and enemy ships. In the first screen, you are trying to destroy satellites... which can only be destroyed if you hit it in the red center of the satellite. You also can not run into the debris left behind by the ship. On the second screen, you are flying through a wormhole, trying to destroy space mines. You can not hit the edges of the wormhole. On the third screen, your try to destroy a fleet of ships, which can also fire back. In most cases, the ships hull will have to be penetrated before you can hit the red core of the ship, to actually destroy it.
