Goop Rush is a sequel to the several themed Ghost Rush games done by the same author (Paul Shoemaker). Unlike his previous sequels, which basically added themes with modified graphics and music but the same gameplay, Goop Rush adds new gameplay, as well as featuring a theme based on the modern game series Fallout. If run on a Coco 3, the player has options for 5 different color sets vs. the single one on a Coco 1 or 2. The basic gameplay is the same as the Ghost Rush originals; the player has a single control (the joystick button, which reverses the players direction moving around the circle (one is always moving and can't stop) while trying to eat the Rad-Away pills) and dodging several varieties of opponents (starting with a single, slow moving buzzard blade).
Added to Goop Rush from previous versions is a Wave Counter on the bottom left, which lets the player keep track of how many waves into the game they are. Also added is the Rads bar on the right; this is how much radiation that you have absorbed. Eating the rad-way pills will lower this slightly, and it is cleared at the start of each wave. A big improvement (in my opinion) is that change in the game behaviour from dying as soon as one hits an opponent; the player is now allowed to touch them, but there rad count goes up instead (so it is essentially a damage bar). If the player can reverse direction and get away from an opponent quickly, they will take minimal damage; if they get trapped between multiple opponents and get run over then their rad count will increase quickly until they are dead. Each wave requires the player to pick up enough Rad Away pills to complete the wave.
