Mazy2 is the first game by Japanese developer Inufuto (using their C like cross-platform engine called "CATE") that is a sequel to one of their earlier games. Like other Inufuto games, it is targeted at many 8 bit systems. On systems that don't have hardware sprite chip or a dedicated background music chip (like the Coco's & MC-10), the engine uses tile based sprites, and single voice music in the intro, game end, and between screens. On the Coco 1/2 version, it runs in the equivalent of PMODE 3 (128x192x4), and on the Coco 3 version it runs at 256x192x16 (a narrower version of HSCREEN 2). The games are designed to run from cassette; but we have made disk runnable versions as well (See downloads below)

Mazy2 is a maze game, as was the original Mazy. But this one is different in one major way: there are multiple floors on each level that the player travels between via up and down staircases (the original Mazy simply had a single floor with scrolling), and each floor can be different sizes. Like the original Mazy, the player has a time limit to get to the exit for each level, and will get more bonus points the faster a level is solved. The same two types of monsters as the original game are included as well, and the player has to find and pick up daggers that they can then throw at the monsters blocking their path in their quest to find the exit. This is more complicated than in the original version, sometimes requires going through multiple floors with multiple staircases in order to even find a dagger. The game runs completely by keyboard controls.

It should be mentioned the Inufuto has also released this game for the Coco's cousin, the MC-10. It requires a 16K RAM expander, and runs at a lower resolution (128x96x4), but plays pretty well identically to the Coco versions.
