Stinger is an arcade game that at first looks to be a clone of the arcade game Star Castle. But, other than the rotating wall openings, the gameplay is quite different. The player's goal is navigate through the rotating openings and run over all of the X shaped bugs (shown in blue above) with their white rectangular "ship" - but avoid getting hit by the diamond shaped red ones (NOTE: on a Coco 1 or 2, red and blue colors may be reversed). The diamond shaped ones can jump between tracks (as can the player) and all of them vary in speed. Everybody is also traveling in the same direction.
The controls take getting used to; rather than the player pushing the right joystick in the direction of an opening wherever they are on the screen, the player pushes left to INWARDS, and pushes right to go OUTWARDS. This takes a little bit to get used to, but then it's fine.
The gameplay gets a bit repetitive, but it is a decent arcade game by a company normally known for making utility programs.
