Teee Offf is a 9 hole golf game that is based on the 1980 Atari 2600 Golf cartridge made by Atari themselves (originally programmed by Michael Lorenzen), which itself was based on the earlier 1978 Computer Golf for the Magnavox Odyssey 2. All the greens are the same for 9 holes; only the hole placement changes. The zoomed out view of each hole has a mixture of water hazards, sand traps, trees and the green. The player is moved around by the joystick, although very slowly compared to the Atari version. The game allows 4 players in the game at a time, each taking turns to complete each hole. The mechanic for hitting the ball takes some getting used to; the player needs to navigate around the ball and the club will change it's visible angle while doing so to indicate to the player which direction it will hit the ball. But the player also has to remember that the backswing (which is how much power one is going to hit the ball with and is determined by how long the player holds down the joystick button) will always swing counter-clockwise, and letting go of the button to hit the ball will always swing clockwise. Therefore, a player may have to switch which side of the ball they are on (above and below, or left and right) in order to swing it in the correct direction. The player also has to hit it with the far edge of their club; it will swing and miss if it is off compared to the ball. Also if an off limits part of the game (the black areas, or a water hazard, etc. will be hit immediately the game may not let the player hit the ball at all; if this appears to happen the player must adjust their angle, sometimes having to take the long way around an obstacle.
The game claims to have 24 different clubs, but since they are all auto-selected for the player depending on their circumstance, it is hard to tell if this is accurate or not. There also some quirks/bugs in the game; one is shown in the last screenshot showing the final score result when I did horribly and took more than 99 shots to complete the 9 hole round; it glitches out drawing the numbers. Also in some cases a player has to go the far edge of the screen in order to get a proper shot; the player's swing can wrap around to the other side of the screen which looks incredibly odd.
Once a player gets used to the controls and quirks of hitting the ball, it is very similar to the older Atari and Magnavox versions.
